Michele Ainza is a Yoga Alliance RYT and has been practicing Yoga for two decades. On top of being a yoga instructor, she has an MFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts and a Certification in Movement Analysis (Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals) from the Integrated Movement Studies program based out of the University of Utah. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor of Dance and Guest Artist at Willamette University and Linfield College. Michele teaches a unique, hybrid yoga class that draws from her experience as a professional dancer, choreographer, and somatic educator. Furthermore, her style has been informed by her studies in Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. As an instructor, she brings her passion of anatomy, kinesiology, improvisation, and creativity, along with her sense of humor and intuition. Michele considers herself a facilitator of movement development and awareness who aims to challenge, inform, and empower every student. She believes in the inherent wisdom of the body and guides her students to listen closely and honor its voice. She hopes to teach her students how to develop a trust and appreciation for their bodies as well as a means to alleviate and prevent pain in the future.
